The Torzon Handbook
A comprehensive technical manual on Operational Security (OpSec), PGP Encryption, and navigating the Torzon marketplace ecosystem without leaving a digital footprint.
01
Secure Environment Setup
Accessing a Torzon mirror begins long before you open a browser. The most critical mistake new users make is attempting to browse the darknet using a standard Windows or macOS installation. These operating systems are designed to collect telemetry data, index files, and store logs—all of which act as forensic evidence.
The Tails OS Standard: To achieve true anonymity, you must use Tails (The Amnesic Incognito Live System). This is a portable operating system that boots from a USB stick. It forces all outgoing connections through the Tor network and block any non-anonymous traffic. Most importantly, Tails writes nothing to the hard disk. When you shut down the computer, the RAM is wiped, and no trace of your session remains.
- Isolation: If malware compromises your browser, it cannot access your main hard drive.
- Spoofing: Your MAC address is spoofed automatically to prevent local network tracking.
WARNING: Never enable JavaScript on a darknet market. While the Torzon official site is built to function without it, having JS enabled allows potential adversaries to execute fingerprinting scripts. Set your Tor Browser Security Level to "Safest".
02
Cryptocurrency Hygiene: BTC vs. XMR
The financial layer of the darknet has evolved. While Bitcoin (BTC) was the pioneer, its transparent public ledger makes it a liability for privacy-focused transactions. Blockchain analysis firms (like Chainalysis) can trace Bitcoin from a regulated exchange (like Coinbase or Binance) all the way to a darknet market wallet.
Why Monero (XMR) is Mandatory
Torzon Market strongly encourages the use of Monero. Unlike Bitcoin, Monero hides the sender, the receiver, and the transaction amount using three technologies:
- Ring Signatures: Mixes your transaction key with past public keys, making it impossible to know who signed the transaction.
- Stealth Addresses: Creates a one-time public key for every transaction so that only the recipient can detect the funds.
- RingCT: Hides the amount being transferred.
If you must use Bitcoin, you are required to "break the chain." This involves sending your BTC to a personal intermediary wallet (like Electrum over Tor), then to a CoinJoin mixer (like Whirlpool), and only then to the market. Sending directly from an exchange to a Torzon link will result in your exchange account being frozen.
03
PGP Encryption: The Iron Wall
Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) is non-negotiable. Even if the market uses https/SSL encryption, the server admins can technically see plaintext messages if they are not encrypted by the user before sending. To protect your address, you must encrypt it with the vendor's Public Key.
How to Encrypt an Address:
1. Import the Vendor's Public Key into your keyring (Kleopatra or GPG Keychain).
2. Draft your message in a text editor (e.g., "Shipping to: John Doe, 123 Main St...").
3. Copy the text to clipboard and select "Encrypt". choose the Vendor as the recipient.
-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----
Version: GnuPG v2.2.20
hQEMA/z8... [Encrypted Block] ...5dJq
=y4/a
-----END PGP MESSAGE-----
Paste only this block into the order notes on the Torzon onion page. Furthermore, you must set up 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) on your account. With 2FA, the market presents a PGP message that you must decrypt to log in, ensuring that even if your password is stolen, your account remains secure.
04
The Escrow Workflow
Understanding the flow of funds is crucial to avoiding loss. Torzon operates on a strict Escrow system.
1. Deposit & Order
You deposit XMR/BTC to your market wallet. When you click "Buy," the funds are moved to a temporary Escrow holding address controlled by the smart contract code.
2. Vendor Acceptance
The vendor sees the order. They accept it and prepare the package. The funds are still locked; the vendor cannot access them yet.
3. Shipping & Finalize
The vendor marks the order as "Shipped." Once you receive the product, you log in and click "Finalize." This releases the funds to the vendor.
4. Auto-Finalization
If you do not finalize or open a dispute within the timer window (usually 14 days), the funds are automatically released to the vendor.
What is FE (Finalize Early)? Some highly trusted vendors on Torzon market have "FE" privileges. This means funds are released to them as soon as they mark the item as shipped. Only agree to FE if the vendor has thousands of positive reviews and a long history. For new vendors, stick to Escrow.
05
Dispute Resolution Protocol
Despite best efforts, packages can get lost or seized. If your timer is running out and you haven't received your goods, you must click "Extend Escrow" or "Dispute." Do not let the timer expire.
When a dispute is opened on the Torzon official site, a moderator joins the chat. You will not win a dispute by being emotional. You win by providing evidence:
- Proof that you communicated with the vendor before disputing.
- Evidence that you provided a correct address (PGP verified).
- If the vendor claims to have tracking, the moderator will check it.
The moderator has the key to unlock the escrow and can issue a 100% refund, a partial refund, or release funds to the vendor if they determine you are lying (e.g., trying to scam the vendor).
